Beach: Burot

Burot beach is one of the backpackers' favorites this year. People who love both camping and beach will find a good place here. The beach became popular because of its close distance from Manila, scenic view, and the small budget required to enjoy the place.

Burot beach is located in Calatagan, a town in Batangas province south west of Manila. Calatagan is known for almost white sand beaches and is also home of one of the wake boarding facilities in the country (Lago de Oro).

I have limited information about commuting and costs of stay in Burot. However, this blog has a lot of good information to share. What I can share here is my experience on this beach.

Our campsite.

When we arrived in Burot around 10:30AM, the main beach was already crowded with people so we decided to pitch our tents on the farthest side of the beach, far from the crowded area. After walking for a few minutes, we found an acceptable spot. We had a hard time looking for a good campsite because almost all of the spots had pile of garbage, and unbearable smell. We pitched our tent on the most acceptable place and clean it up for a while and started setting up our stoves to prepare our lunch.

One of the activities here is a boat ride to the sand bar.

A live star fish. We returned it after our short pictorial.

Change of colors.

Red Light Socials. It was my idea to use red light so we can both drink and do star gazing at the same time.

Punta de Santiago lighthouse near Burot Beach.

Burot is one of the best beaches near Manila. A good place for mountaineers and backpackers to enjoy both camping and beach bumming. However, the influx of people from different places who some or most of them are not aware on how to preserve and protect nature, made a huge impact in the ecosystem of this hidden gem.

When we see a beautiful untouched place in our country being shown in our television, our immediate reactions are "I want to go there!", "I wish it remains that way" and "May it not get spoiled.". The truth is, we can both enjoy and not spoil nature at the same time. We just need to be its responsible guests.

Seth

My first time to do photo shoot of a kid.

Event Horizon

Event horizon is the boundary in space and time beyond which events cannot affect an outside observer. In layman's terms, it is known as "the point of no return". Although the term is commonly used for black holes, this can be associated with first time mothers as well. This is the point in time when they will transition from a single, and sometimes self-centered woman to loving and caring mother which unknowingly placing the needs of their little ones above theirs.

My second maternity shoot. My friend asked me to take her photo a month she gave birth. I took these photos around last week of March in Laiya, Batangas. She and her husband is now having a great time with their daughter.
