Travel 2013: Singapore Part II

I'm a big movie fan. I started collecting my favorite movies way back in college. I have hundreds of VCDs (DVDs were expensive and rare during those days) and DVDs in my collection. That being said, Universal Studios is in my list of place to visit. I've missed Universal Studios in Hollywood when I went to the US last 2006 so this time around, we've allotted the whole Day 2 in Singapore for Universal Studio.

Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park located within Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island, Singapore. It was a key component of Genting's bid for the right to build Singapore's second integrated resort. On 8 December 2006, the Singapore government announced that the consortium had won the bid. Construction of the theme park and the rest of the resort started on 19 April 2007. It is the second Universal Studios theme park to open in Asia (Japan being the first), and the first in Southeast Asia. The official plans for the park were unveiled to the public when Universal Studios Singapore released a park map to the public on 20 October 2009. Universal Studios Singapore has since attracted more than 2 million visitors in the 9 months from its opening.

Universal Parks & Resorts markets the park as a "one-of-its-kind theme park in Asia" and promises that the park will be the only one of its kind in Southeast Asia for the next 30 years. (Wikipedia)

The Mummy

Probably the best ride in USS, Transformers!

Nerd Humor Alert!!!

The Castle of Far Far Away Kingdom

Shrek's Cinema

Poooo!!!

Water World Water Action Show

We recommend that you allot a whole day in Universal Studios Singapore to fully enjoy the park! And also, if you enjoyed the Transformers ride, try it again and again and again. There are shows in different parts of the park, some inside the theater while others are on the street. The shows we recommend are the Water World Show (if you're not a hydrophobic, we suggest that you get the middle front seat :D), The Monster Rock Show in New York section and the Lights! Camera! Action! Hosted by Steven Spielberg in New York section as well.

Note: Bring extra clothes. Dry fit shirt is highly recommended due to Singapore's weather and the adrenaline rush that the park will give you.

Day 3 to be continued...
